New Hires Demonstrate Continued Growth within ELM Architecture Firm

ELM | Ervin Lovett Miller architecture and design firm continues to expand in both its Jacksonville, Fla., and Seattle, Wash., offices with the recent additions of four new talented design professionals.

“ELM is delighted to welcome four very gifted individuals who each contribute a wealth of knowledge and immense passion that will help drive ELM toward becoming ‘tomorrow’s firm,’” founding principal Steve Lovett said.

The recent additions to ELM’s Jacksonville-based team include:

Jenna Toffaletti

Jenna Toffaletti

Jenna Toffaletti is an associate architect who earned her master’s degree in architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her time in Savannah galvanized her understanding of the intersection of architecture and landscape and the appreciation of modern systems within a historic city.

Ms. Toffaletti’s natural creative talent was enhanced by the knowledge that she gained from four years at an international architecture, planning and design firm based in Baltimore. She also gained a diverse range of industry experience through positions in commercial real estate brokerage and residential sales and marketing. Toffaletti’s diverse background and interests are valuable to ELM, with a passion for all aspects of interdisciplinary practice, ecology, graphics arts and building design.

Ms. Toffaletti is a fiercely competitive athlete, playing collegiate volleyball at SCAD. She will captain ELM’s office volleyball team, once established.

Mark Klone

Mark Klone

Mark Klone is a  landscape architect with a unique, multi-disciplinary understanding of the intersection of buildings and landscape. He earned his architectural undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University.

Mr. Klone brings eight years of professional experience to ELM, delivering high quality services for projects of varying types and scales. His versatile expertise and commitment to emerging technologies will bring value to ELM’s clients with his familiarity working on a wide variety of project types, such as parks and recreation, golf course planning, community planning, urban design, landscape architecture, amenity design, and graphic design. And, at 6’-7” tall, he is the tallest staff member in the history of the firm.

Belinda Barrett

Belinda Barrett

Belinda Barrett is responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties related to the firm – which is no small task! Driven by her genuine love of people, spirit of hospitality, and upbeat attitude, she is the firm’s main “traffic cop,” successfully coordinating schedules and meetings for a busy team of staff and clients within ELM’s dynamic office environment. Ms. Barrett is the consummate administrative professional and understands ELM’s business, with more than two decades of experience working with firms in the design and construction industries.

The recent additions to ELM’s Seattle-based team include:

Yi Liu

Yi Liu

Yi Liu, originally from China, holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Tongji University and received her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Louisiana State University in 2014. Her background in Asian arts and culture, combined with study in Western design theory and implementation, gives her a unique ability to incorporate science and art with cutting-edge technologies to best understand how natural and cultural systems interact.

Liu’s work reveals the nature and culture of a landscape to its users; understands the big picture in their minds; engages their curiosity and explores how the landscapes will be interpreted and how users can bring deeper meaning and value to the landscape. She is currently working on the San Diego Africa Rocks and Big Rock Park projects for the ELM Environments studio in Seattle.

These new team members bring diverse experience and professional knowledge that will enhance ELM’s ability to deliver exceptional services for noteworthy projects across the country.
