Canopy Oaks at Westminster Oaks Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting
Canopy Oaks, the new four-story apartment building at Tallahassee’s Westminster Oaks active senior living community, celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, January 11.
The largest single project in Westminster Oaks history, the new facility adds 40 new apartments to the 90-acre community, as well as an adjacent parking garage.
Westminster broke ground on the $14-million expansion project in May 2017, which includes the multifamily facility, along with amenities including a 4,400 sq. ft. fitness center, swimming pool, tennis court, and trails that run throughout the grounds of the senior living community.
The 375-space parking garage adjacent to the facility provides dedicated spaces for residents on each floor, and ample space for visitors, with a safe, climate-controlled walkway that connects the garage to the onsite Maguire Center for Life Learning, an onsite learning center which presents programs, lectures and performances for residents and visitors.
The lifestyle provided at Westminster has caused a strong demand, with apartments at Canopy Oaks selling out within six weeks. The spacious units range from one to three bedrooms, with between 1,100-1,,800 sq. ft. of living space, all in close proximity to the community’s amenities, dining, and Lifelong Learning center.
ELM provided master planning, architecture, landscape architecture and construction observation services, as well as project visioning and theming, approvals and entitlements, and community engagement throughout the duration of the project.
