Jacksonville Zoo | Wild Florida*

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Jacksonville Zoo’s Wild Florida exhibit was sensitively planned and designed to take advantage of 2.5 acres of natural wetlands on the zoo campus, housing species native to Florida as well as some that have been extirpated.

The overall habitat is home to alligators, black bears, red wolves, whooping cranes, bald eagles, bobcats, Florida panthers, white-tailed deer and an owl species. The Reptile House exhibits over 25 different species of reptiles and amphibians including the Eastern Indigo Snake.

The Alligator exhibit in particular has been well-received. The zoo has a large collection of mature alligators; and the proximity and perspective is dramatic, especially during their feedings.
