Tim Miller, AIA, NCARB
Tim is a talented registered architect with more than 38 years of experience in the design and construction documentation of a variety of project types and clients. He is registered in the states of Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and Washington.
Tim brings the unique combined talents of a gifted, innovative designer and proficient technician. Known as a great team leader and collaborator, Tim has led multidiscipline design teams on complex projects, primarily in the southeastern United States. A student of architectural history, he seeks to find solutions based in the traditions of craftsmanship, community, and sustainability. During his career, he has compiled extensive experience in the design of unique office and commercial buildings; residential buildings and homes; and resort and club facilities, including golf clubs, and fitness, spa, and wellness facilities; community amenities; and places of worship.
Tim received his Bachelor of Design degree from the University of Florida in 1981 and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University in 1987. While at the University of Florida, he pursued a diverse field of study which emphasized historic preservation and passive solar design. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Institute of Classical Architecture (ICA), the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the San Marco Preservation Society.
Tim is very familiar with the regulatory environments of downtown urban contexts after serving on the City of Jacksonville’s Downtown Development Review Board for 8 years and holding the position of Board Chairman for the last 2 years of his service.
Tim retired from ELM in March 2018, and was named Partner Emeritus to honor his leadership and contributions to the success of ELM over the past two decades.
